Use this workflow when a part already has a dimension or feature you want to adjust. Start on a saved test copy so you can compare the result with the original.
Before you begin
Open the part in SolidWorks, select its project in Chippo, and check the active document and configuration. Identify the dimension or feature by name when possible. Describe its location if you do not know the name; ask Chippo to identify it before changing it.
Read the current state
Start with an inspection request:
Read the mounting-hole spacing in the active part and configuration. Tell me the dimension name, current value and units, and the feature it belongs to. Do not change or save anything.
Compare the reported dimension with the model. Resolve an ambiguous target before proceeding.
Make one change
Once the target is clear, give the intended value and scope:
Change that mounting-hole spacing from 40 mm to 50 mm in the current configuration only. Keep the hole diameter and part thickness unchanged. Rebuild, read the dimension back and report any rebuild errors. Do not save yet.
These values are an example, not a requirement for your part. Substitute the actual names and dimensions. If a tool reports an error or an unsupported operation, inspect the current model before trying again.
Check the result
Confirm the dimension value and units, the active configuration, and whether neighboring features changed. Check the viewport and SolidWorks rebuild errors. Ask for a separate save only after the result meets your requirements.
A successful rebuild is not a strength, clearance or manufacturing check. If the change affects fit or performance, carry out the relevant engineering checks.
Next steps
- Read understanding execution to handle cancellations or uncertain outcomes.
- Record reusable requirements in design knowledge and rules.
- For work inside an assembly, continue with inspect an assembly.
